| A 1939 Packard had been owned and worked on for 20+ years. The drive train was completed but the paint job had been botched. It was also a basket case. I sent off the chrome, radio, instruments, and steering wheel to get redone. The body was decent with not too much repair of previous bodywork. The car required paint, inside and out, a new interior and total assembly to a running state. Again, there were a number of parts that had to be found to replace missing or bad ones. The paint was a metallic green with 5 coats of clear acrylic enamel on top and then sanded and buffed to a high gloss. The car was completed in 1999. Adjusted for todays dollar, the labor cost would be approximately $5,500. |
