My
name is George Kipp Woodbury. I am 58 years of age and have been restoring
antique and classic cars for 28 years in north central Arkansas. I started
with a 1929 Model A coupe and when it was sold to a friend of mine 19
years later it was still winning 2nd and 3rd place trophies at car shows.
My cars will normally judge in the 90-94/100 point range at a judged
show.
I have restored over 125 classic or antique cars. These range from
a 1912 Model T "business roadster", a 1915 GMC truck to all
types of vehicles up to a 1979 Buick, many years of Fords, Chevrolets,
Oldsmobiles, Pontiacs and quite a few British sports cars. I have just
completed work on a 1941 Lincoln Zephyr.
I have a small one man shop so I can guarantee a quality job. I do
complete ground up restorations or to whatever degree the customer
wants. All my paint jobs are color sanded and then buffed to insure
a high gloss finish with no orange peel. I normally use acrylic enamel
paint with hardener, but can do base coat/clear coat and lacquer. The
enamel finish is more durable than lacquer. It lets you drive and enjoy
the car without the extra regular care required by the lacquer finish.
Under most circumstances, I work on only 1 car at a time and most
normal cars take 6-7 week to complete. This may be longer when engine
work, major chrome work or when finding parts is difficult. Each car
is unique and all this will be discussed before any deal is made and
the car is picked up or brought to me. I can and do pick up and deliver
cars but there is a separate fee involved with this service. If I were
to pick up the "basket case" the customer can most likely
drive it home.
